Clinical Scheduler is shift scheduling for volunteer-run free clinics. It is built and operated by Whitetulip Health Foundation Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
What it does
A clinic administrator builds the schedule — sessions, the roles each one needs, and who is filling them — and publishes it. Volunteers see the shifts they are on, confirm them, say when they are available, claim shifts nobody has taken, and get a reminder before each one by email or push notification.
Under Notifications, each person chooses the email addresses that should receive shift messages and allows push on the phones or tablets they want registered.
A clinic can also publish its schedule to a calendar app, so shifts appear alongside everything else somebody is doing rather than only inside one more application.
Who it is for
Clinic volunteers and the people who run the schedule — providers, medical assistants, scribes, coordinators. It is a staff tool.
It is not a patient-facing service, it holds no medical records, and nothing about a patient is entered into it.
Why it exists
Free clinics run on people who are giving up a Saturday, and the scheduling usually runs on a spreadsheet and a group chat. That works until somebody does not see a message, and the cost of that is a clinic session short of a provider with patients already waiting.
The point of this is that the schedule is one record everybody can see, that a change reaches the people it affects, and that nobody has to ask what they are down for.
